Magic Potion Isopods for Sale: Two Collector Favorite Lines

Looking for Magic Potion isopods for sale? Here, we have two lines of this sought-after designer morph of Armadillidium vulgare: the Japanese Line and the American Line. It’s priced for its rich, eye-catching color, Magic Potion has become one of the most talked-about pill bugs in the hobby. Because it’s built on a hardy, forgiving species, you get designer looks without a difficult care routine.

2 morphs available

Japanese Magic Potion Isopods is the original line that helped make Magic Potion famous. It’s a favorite among collectors who want to start with the line that built the morph’s reputation.

American Magic Potion Isopods is a line developed in the US. It’s a great choice for keepers who want a second line to collect, compare and breed alongside the Japanese.

How to care for Magic Potion isopods

Both lines share the same care, so you can keep them without learning new rules. Magic Potion is a pill bug, which means it can roll into a tight ball when disturbed, a fun behavior to watch.

• Moisture: create a gradient, with one side lightly damp and the other drier. Avoid soggy substrate.
• Ventilation: good airflow keeps conditions fresh and prevents mold.
• Substrate: use organic soil mixed with leaf litter and rotting hardwood.
• Hides: provide cork bark and other cover.
• Calcium: offer a source such as cuttlebone.
• Food: feed a varied diet of leaves and wood, with the occasional vegetable or protein. Remove uneaten fresh food before it spoils.

In a bioactive terrarium, Magic Potion works as a dependable clean-up crew, feeding on decaying leaf litter, rotting wood and leftover food while keeping your substrate healthy. It looks especially striking against dark soil, green moss and natural wood. With stable conditions, a starter group will grow into a colony you can enjoy for years, and it’s a smart choice if you plan to breed isopods to share or sell.
